Green-horned and Green-footed

Everyone knows there are 10,000 different species of birds in the world. What everyone doesn’t know is there are 10,000 different species of grasshopper. In one genus alone.

This is one of those 10,000 short-horned grasshoppers, and on the commoner end: you’ll have bound to have seen it hopping around our parks and gardens, though its camoflauge might have made that a bit harder. Not surprisingly for one species out of 10,000 in one genus, the information on it is scarce, to say the least.

There’s always something new to discover.
